Etryon is optimized for apparel use cases (e.g., tops, dresses, outerwear). Results may be less reliable for accessories, footwear, bags, very sheer materials, or listings with incomplete or unusual product imagery.

In addition, more revealing categories such as swimwear and lingerie are more likely to trigger platform/model content policy restrictions, which can lead to failed generations or inconsistent results—so we generally don’t recommend enabling virtual try-on for these items. We recommend piloting on your core categories first, then expanding.

Can I enable try-on for only some products?

Yes. Etryon lets you control try-on availability flexibly from the dashboard, with three rollout modes:

Enable for all products: turn on try-on across all eligible items
Enable by product category: enable try-on only for selected categories
Enable by individual product: enable try-on for specific products

Is Etryon.ai free to use?

Yes. Etryon.ai offers a free trial so you can experience AI virtual try-on without any upfront cost.

New users receive free credits to generate virtual try-on images and test how the feature works on their store.

After the free credits are used, you can purchase additional credits on a pay-as-you-go basis or upgrade to a paid plan for higher usage and advanced features.

What happens if I run out of credits or traffic spikes?

If you exceed your included usage, you’ll typically need to upgrade your plan or purchase additional credits according to your account options. Before peak seasons, plan buffer capacity and monitor usage in your dashboard.

What photo requirements should shoppers follow?

For more consistent try-on results, we recommend photos with good lighting, a clear view of the upper body or full body, one person, and a front-facing or slightly angled pose. Heavy occlusion (e.g., bulky outerwear covering the torso) or very dark/backlit shots may reduce quality. You can guide shoppers with in-widget copy. Results may vary by photo quality, garment imagery, and category.

Do try-on results guarantee fit? Do I need a disclaimer?

Try-on images are AI-generated previews to help shoppers visualize a garment—they do not guarantee fit or replace sizing guidance. A short, clear disclaimer near the widget is recommended. Keep your size chart and return policy visible.

Will virtual try-on slow down my store?

Typically, no. Etryon’s try-on entry is lightweight on the product page, and page load doesn’t depend on the generation process. Try-on generation runs asynchronously on the server and is triggered only after a shopper clicks and uploads a photo. In most storefronts, enabling virtual try-on does not noticeably impact initial page load or overall browsing speed.

How does mobile work? Do I need a separate setup?

No separate setup is needed. Shoppers can upload a photo and complete try-on directly in their mobile browser, with the same flow as desktop. The plugin works with most themes and mobile touch interactions by default. In rare cases, themes with custom popups or scrolling effects may require small style tweaks to ensure the try-on window displays correctly.

What should merchants know about privacy and compliance?

Etryon does not store shopper photos; photos are stored on your store infrastructure, with configurable retention. As the merchant-facing data controller, you should reflect photo use, retention, and user rights in your privacy policy and obtain consent where required.
